Trinity War was first published by DC Comics as a significant crossover event in the New 52 during the 2013–2014 timeframe. But as it proved out, it was actually the forerunner of Forever Evil, the first true line-wide crossover after the DC Universe reboot. These are two closely related occurrences.

The Trinity War, which the three Justice Leagues fight, causes friendships to change, comrades to turn into enemies, and a major metamorphosis of the DC Universe.
