The Boys comic series was released in 2006 by DC Comics, and its last issue was published in 2012 by Wildstrom Publication.

The comic series was written by Garth Ennis and crafted and illustrated by Darick Robertson.

It has a total of 72 issues to date, and it is also now cast as a television series on the giant Prime Video.

The storyline of The Boys revolved around some superheroes that were so common that they were found everywhere around the world.

These superheroes were given a predefined celebrity title, which was usually enough to put the people and the planet in trouble.

The boys are a team of young people, including a leader, a Frenchman Billy Butcher, and a lady, who are supposed to monitor the superheroes’ acts.

There is yet another character in the story, Wee Hughie Campbell, who expressed his will to join the boys as he was traumatized by the act of The Seven as they killed his girlfriend.

The Seven was another team of superheroes that were the biggest rivals of The Boys.
The story tells the importance of power and fame in gaining the people’s trust. Often, there are people who we claim to be great personalities, but they plan to stab a knife behind our backs.

The Boys Correct Reading Order:

The Boys is a vast and complicated series of comics containing 72 issues from the leading collections. Not only this, but the comic series also includes a fair number of small issues and mini-collections.

The total number of issues is around a century. Here is the list of all the issues of this comic that have been released to date, the last one of which was released in 2012:

  • The Name of the Game:

In these issues, Billy Butcher is trying to form a team called The Boys against some superheroes who have named their group The Seven; it consists of seven superheroes. In this, there is a guy named Hughie whose girlfriend is accidentally killed by a superhero named A-Train, after which Hughie also joins Billy Butcher’s team.

  • Get Some:

In the “Get Some” arc of “The Boys” (issues #7-10), Hughie and Billy Butcher’s partnership strengthens as they target superheroes beyond The Seven. They confront Tech Knight and Swing Wing, exposing their misdeeds and delivering their own brand of rough justice.

In the Glorious Five Year Plan comic issue, Hughie, Billy Butcher and the rest of the Boys’ team travel to Russia to uncover and foil the ongoing plans of the superheroes Vought International and Little Nina.

  • Good For The Soul:

The Good For The Soul comic and I Tell You No Lie G.I issues focus on the inside stories of the Boys and The Seven and the history of Vought International. These issues further showcase Hughie and Starlight’s chemistry, for the first time, Billy Butcher and Homelander are seen talking to each other.

  • We Gotta Go Now:

In the We Gotta Go Now comic issues, the story revolves around the G-Mens, a separate superhero group, and also sees Hughie and Starlight’s love story progressing.

  • Herogasm:

In the Herogasm storyline, many new characters have been introduced along with the development of the old characters. Homelander’s insecurities, the growing friendship of superheroes, and bold stories have also been introduced in this storyline.

  • The Self Preservation Society:

in this storyline, the Payback team takes center stage alongside Stormfront, a Nazi superhero. These issues delve into Homelander’s descent into ignorance and madness. Additionally, the dark past of Mother’s Milk and Vought International is explored, alongside Frenchie’s backstory.

Story-arcs: The Self-Preservation Society, Nothing Like It in the World plus the stories La Plume De Ma Tante Est Sur La Table and The Female of the Species Is More Deadly Than the Male.

  • The Innocents:
The Innocents comic

In this comics series, Homelander wants to team up with other superheroes. Butcher finds out about Hughie and Annie dating, causing some problems. Hughie finds out something important about Annie, and there’s a new character named Super Duper introduced.

  • Highland Laddie: Instead of continuing as a regular comic series, this story has been turned into a mini-series.

These comic issues focus on telling the origin story of Hughie and Annie. These mini series take place right after The Belief story-arc Highland Laddie #1-6

  • The Big Ride:

In this big storyline of “The Boys” comics, something important happens. Billy Butcher, one of the main characters, changes a lot and becomes quite scary. The story gets serious as Butcher plans to fight against the Seven and even Homelander. He’s even thinking about attacking the President.

In this comic series you will get to see action and main battles as well as Butcher soft side.

This comic issue was released in the year 2021. It tells about the origin of Baki and Butcher and the future of Hughie, Annie, Stillwell.
