Marvel pulled off the unimaginable at the end of 2014: they killed Wolverine! Our beloved mutant would not emerge for nearly four years—don’t worry, Old Man Logan was around at that time. Logan had to be located first, though, before he could truly return. And that’s how the Wolverine hunt got started!

The official Marvel synopsis reads, “Wolverine is back, but where is he?” A horrible secret causes old wounds to reopen, questions to be raised about the truth, and an incredible journey across the Marvel Universe to begin just as the X-Men have finally come to terms with Logan’s death.

Who, though, will crack the code first? Will it be Misty Knight and Daredevil and his gang of homicidal investigators? Maybe Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Logan’s erstwhile fellow New Avengers? Alternatively, maybe Daken, Lady Deathstrike, and Sabretooth will find him! The enigma surrounding Madripoor and the world at large will keep you guessing when Wolverine makes his comeback!

What Comes After the Search for Wolverine and Wolverine’s Return

Wolverine has always been one of the busiest X-Men, and as soon as he returned, he appeared in multiple titles, following in Hunt for Wolverine and Return of Wolverine.

  • When Wolverine returned, he possessed an Infinity Stone. For those curious about what happened next, the limited series “Wolverine: Infinity Watch,” penned by Gerry Duggan, offers a follow-up to that intriguing storyline.
  • Wolverine and the Hulk are teaming up once again, ready to confront the perilous creation spawned in their honor in “Hulkverines” by Greg Park.
  • After the tumultuous events of X-Men Disassembled and his resurrection, Wolverine reunites with the Uncanny X-Men in a storyline crafted by Matthew Rosenberg.

It will take some time for readers to see Wolverine make his way back to the front of his own book, authored by Benjamin Percy and set during the Reign X/Jonathan Hickman era.
